Florida ranks second in US states for coastline behind Alaska with 1,350 mi of beautiful blue water and white sandy beaches. Over half of that is attributed to the gulf of Mexico! The Gulf (west) coast of Florida measures 770 miles long, 5,095 counting estuaries and tidal pools; and 19 ports. It’s home to some of our favorite beaches, beloved wildlife, and thrilling outdoor activities.
So in today’s episode we’re going to be talking to our friends over at Mote to learn more about this amazing body of water, what they’re doing to keep healthy, and how you can do your part while you’re here!
Are there Great White sharks in the gulf? How do sea turtles know how to find the water? How deep is the gulf of Mexico? Does it take 2000 yers to regrow coral? What did Megan say that was so hilarious? Find out all this and more on this weeks episode of Just a Podcast in Paradise.
